Explosive Protection Systems (EPS)
Since the introduction of the ATEX (Atmosphere Explosive) Directives in June 2003, companies must ensure that all equipment and machinery used in explosive atmospheres meets stringent Health and Safety requirements.

By keeping up to date with industry trends and requirements, MAP Plant were able, together with Petrolplus companies such as Pyroban (an expert in explosive protection
equipment), to deliver the first ATEX Zone 1 Telescopic Forklift to the Petrolplus ( formerly BP) Coryton Oil Refinery.

MAP Plant has been supplying equipment to the Sub Contractors at the Petrolplus Coryton Oil Refinery since May 2005. Six forklifts have now been adapted to include additional safety features such as quick release tow hitches and spark arresters.
